Design Projects

This publication takes a visual look at origami, including traditional and contemporary origami models; it also explores the cultural significance of specific models in Japanese culture. It is the result of many, many hours of work folding dozens of origami models, and photgraphing them all to be combined into a publication. The hand-stitched binding is used to emphasise the hand-made nature of origami folding.

This project is intended to evoke a sense of calm and serenity in the viewer. The combination of cool colours, glowing lines, and tranquil music transports the viewer from their everyday life to a space of serenity, even if just for a few moments.

Serenity was made to be projected onto a multi-layered flower shape in a dark room to immerse the viewer in the experience. The video below shows a mock-up of the animations in After Effects.

Concept and mock-up of custom packaging for a box of fairytale themed chocolates. The featured fairytales are Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White. Each fairytale has its own compartment which contains three chocolates each featuring designs relating to that fairytale. I did all of the illustrations, box design, and construction of the packaging.

This publication is an annual report for the fictional publisher Starlight Publishing. The aim was to keep the annual report professional and formal, whilst incorporating book imagery and design motifs found in books.
