Hyper Rush is an asynchronous multiplayer time trial racing game, where players race on a collection of different tracks with character abilities and power ups to set the best times possible.

- I worked as part of a team of tech artists and 3D artists who explored and implemented the toon visual style of the game
- I was specifcally responsible for the base toon shader, matching the look and feel of 2D mock ups and concepts
- Collaborated with artists to update existing assets to enhance their look in the toon style
- Updated existing shader and material pipelines to work with the toon style
- Documented my shader exploration and reasoning for final decisions
- Also documented the updated pipelines and technical details
- Created VFX for each of the four character abilities to sit within the toon style
- Created the three levels of drift VFX
- Created VFX to enhance prop interactions, including speed ramps, bounce pads and poles
- Worked with 3D artists to create prop specific shaders
